Person in custody after woman found dead along I-255

BETHALTO, Ill. (KMOV.com) -- The Major Case Squad has taken a person into custody in the case of a woman found dead along Interstate 255, according to a release Sunday night.
Tabitha Milton-Rush, 44, of St. Louis was found dead Saturday morning in an embankment along Interstate 255 in Bethalto, Ill.
Bethalto police responded to a caller who reported finding a body about one mile north of Illinois Route 140 around 9 a.m. Police began their investigation, and the woman was pronounced dead at 9:51 a.m.
Investigators say they believe Milton-Rush died from gunshot wounds to the head . Authorities say they believe she died at another location, and the body was later dumped along the highway.
According to authorities, Milton-Rush had last been seen on Jan. 1. Family members contacted News 4 on Saturday to ask that missing person information on Milton-Rush be broadcast.
