ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Authorities have released charges filed against a suspect who allegedly shot two beauty shop employees in south St. Louis on Thursday night, leaving one man dead.
Kenneth Payne, 33, was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.
Police say the incident began when two employees confronted a woman they believed had stolen merchandise from a beauty supply store, located in the 3900 block of South Grand.
A male suspect then reportedly intervened and fired gunshots, one of which hit the female employee. The male employee was also shot in the head.
Both victims were transported to a local hospital. The male victim was pronounced dead, while the female victim was listed in serious condition.
The two suspects were identified and arrested early Friday morning.
Payne is being held without bond.
