Residents worry hospital expansion might lower property values

(KMOV) -- Residents in south St. Louis County are worried that expansion plans at St. Anthony's Medical Center could impact their property values.

Joe Rottman, a trustee in the subdivision next to St. Anthony's property, says he's worried about what might happen. He says he is confident that an expansion project will affect the property values of homes in the surrounding areas.

Over the years, St. Anthony's has been buying up lots, and now they are ready to launch what they say is a 25-year plan to meet the medical needs of the community.

Residents say they will sit down with hospital officials on Wednesday to try and settle the dispute.
