JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A bill that would let Missouri gamblers buy food and beverages with casino chips is on its way to Gov. Jay Nixon.
The House approved the legislation on a vote of 131-23 Monday. The Senate had passed it earlier.
It's currently a misdemeanor in Missouri to use casino chips for anything other than placing bets and tipping casino employees.
Supporters of the legislation said letting patrons use chips to buy food and drinks would help Missouri casinos compete with those in other states.
Casino chips is SB984
