(KMOV) -- A new landscaping project will put more than 3,400 trees along the new stretch of I-64 in St. Louis City and St. Louis County.
The Missouri Department of Transportation is looking for landscape sponsors to pay for the project. Companies can sponsor sections of the highway by paying to take care of 6,200 shrubs and acres of new grass. MoDOT already has four sponsors, and is looking for more through the Adopt-a-Highway program.
"Our goal is to try to keep I-64 looking good," says Ed Hassinger of MoDOT. "We made a huge investment in this highway. This is our opportunity to make it look good and keep it looking good long into the future."
