St. Louis (KMOV.com) – A St. Louis teenager will be tried as an adult for allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash and the death of another motorist.
Derion A. Henderson, 17, of the 5700 block of Park Lane is now facing charges of 2nd Degree Murder, 1st Degree Tampering .
Police say Henderson was behind the wheel of a Dodge Stratus on December 3, 2009 when Uplands Park police took chase.
The pursuit ended when police say Henderson ran a stop sign and smashed into a Pontiac Grand Am carrying five people.
Investigators say that Henderson and another young man fled the scene.
Lashanna Snipes, 34, of St. Louis was killed in the crash. Four others in the vehicle were injured.
Henderson is being held on $500,000 bond.
