DES PERES, Mo. (AP) -- The National Weather Service has made it official: Damage in western St. Louis County on Saturday was the result of a tornado.
The Weather Service sent an assessment team on Sunday to the Des Peres (duh-PEHR') area. Their assessment confirmed a small tornado touched down with winds of up to 80 mph.
No one was hurt but power lines and trees were knocked down near West County mall, and some homes had roof damage.
