(KMOV)-- St. Louis police have located a suspect that escaped from custody.
Authorities said Germaine Williams, 26, was being transported on Sunday with other prisoners. The prisoners were in handcuffs shackled together. When officers were unloading the prisoners, Williams held his hands behind his back as if to look like he was still in handcuffs.
Authorities said Williams then fled out the north door of the Justice Center, which had just been opened by employees who were exiting the area as prisoners were being unloaded. Somehow Williams had managed to remove the handcuffs while in the van. Williams was located Monday in the 2600 block of Whittier and taken into custody.
Williams allegedly robbed a 69-year-old white female and 74-year-old white male in the female victim's home Friday. Williams displayed a gun and then took the victim's car. Williams was charged with 1st Degree Robbery, 1st Degree Burglary and Armed Criminal Action.
Williams also being charged with Escape from Custody While Under Arrest for a Felony. A judge ordered he be held with no bond.
