Missouri woman pleads guilty to embezzlement of more than $500,000

(KMOV) -- A Missouri woman has plead guilty to the embezzlement of more than half a million dollars from her employer.

Authorities said Andrea M. Wild took $573,388 between January of 2003 and August of 2009 without the knowledge of her employer. Wild worked as an administrative assistant and was to pay personal expenses for her boss. In addition to paying her employer's bills, Wild also used blank, signed checks to pay for her utility bills, home mortgage, credit card bills and car loan payments, as well as checks written to her own name.

The 51-year-old from St. Peters, Mo., plead guilty to one felony count of mail fraud and agreed to forfeit the cash and property bought with embezzled money, including property, a car and two retirement accounts.

Wild faces up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000. Sentencing is set for July 2.
