(KMOV.com) -- A Missouri mother, mourning the loss of her eight-year-old son, could soon be facing charges for his death.
The Kansas City mother said she was called to her son’s school after he was having issues with his asthma. She brought the boy home, but she said she didn’t think his breathing was labored so she didn’t take him to the hospital.
But a few days later he died from a brain hemorrhage due to complications from asthma. Now police say the mother did not do enough to save him.
“He was acting like nothing was wrong with him,” the mother said, “He jumped from around the corner playing with me and his sister. I did not kill my son.”
The mother said she gave her son an inhaler as she has done in the past and had no idea the asthma attack would be deadly. Police do not have a timetable for when they will decide if charges will be filed.
