UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police said they have one suspect in custody in connection with a string of burglaries in University City, but are still looking for two others. Some of the victims and neighbors spoke to News 4.

Judy Strebeck was victimized when robbers snagged her laptop and cell phone from an open window in her home on Stanford Avenue.. Knowing the degree of danger faced by some of her neighbors, Strebeck is grateful.

“We use our security locks on our windows so they’re only raised a little bit … my desk is higher than that, and I would have never thought anyone could reach in because I think about that stuff,” said Strebeck.

Three armed male suspects allegedly went into two homes through open windows and held both families at gun point. In one home, children were present the whole time. The thieves got away with laptops, phones and credit cards.

“[They] supposedly held a gun to a four-year-old’s head with one family … if they do that to kids, they’re capable of anything. They have no care for anyone but themselves,” said Strebeck.

University City Police have one of the three men in custody. 21-year-old Dominick Davis faces 13 felony charges, including armed criminal action. Davis is being held on a $2 million cash only bond.

Police are still searching for the other two suspects.
