Florissant City Council member arrested during prostitution bust

FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A Florissant City Council member was arrested during a prostitution bust in St. Louis City last week.
Forty-seven-year-old Timothy Jones, who has been a councilman for a few months, is facing charges of patronizing a prostitute after being arrested on Oct. 9 following a sting operation by police.
According to arrest documentation, Jones offered $20 to an undercover female officer for sexual intercourse. Jones allegedly asked the woman multiple times if she was an officer and stated he was nervous.
Florissant Mayor Thomas P. Schneider released the following statement Thursday.
Jones’ criminal history includes four alcohol related offenses, including one DWI, between 1988 and 1998 in which he pleaded guilty.
