OAK LAWN, Ill. (AP) -- Officials say three people have died and at least 11 others have been hospitalized following an 11-vehicle crash in a Chicago suburb.
Oak Lawn village manager Larry Deetjen says one of the dead was the driver of a pickup truck that had been driving erratically on Sunday before crashing into oncoming traffic stopped at a red light. He says the other two fatalities were passengers in a stopped car.
The Cook County medical examiner's office says two women and a man died. Their identities haven't been released.
Police say two people were hospitalized in critical condition and one was in noncritical condition. Eight people were treated for minor injuries.
Witnesses say the pickup truck flipped into the air after hitting some vehicles before landing on others.
