(KMOV.com) – Police said a teenager died after an accident on Highway 157 in Edwardsville Friday afternoon.
According to police, 16-year-old Garrett Steele was a passenger in the car that was driving on 157 when the driver lost control of the car, crossed the center line and slammed into an SUV that was driven by a 47-year-old woman.
Police said Steele was wearing his seat belt, but died of head injuries from the crash. The drivers of both cars were also hurt and were taken to a local hospital.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
