North St. Louis County, Mo. (KMOV.com)—Police in North County have two suspects in custody who are accused of zip-tying a woman who was putting her two kids in the car Friday morning, according to St. Louis County Police.

According to police, the woman was putting her two children in a car at the corner of Red Barn Court and El Camara Drive, just west of Route 367, when two men armed with handguns and with their faces covered pointed a gun at the woman to rob her.

Police say the father of the children was outside of the home when the men arrived. A detective said the man ran to a nearby demolition crew who lent him their cell phone to call police.

While the man was calling police, the suspects took the woman into the home, zip-tied her and began rummaging through the home. The father and members of the demolition crew nearby came to help.

"I saw the wife run up out of the house with her hands tied behind her back. She went and got her kids. Her kids were tied inside of a car," said a member of the demolition crew.

Authorities say the suspects were still in the home when they arrived on the scene a minute after receiving the call.

Following a short foot pursuit, police took one suspect into custody and arrested the second one a short-time later. The suspects’ names have not been released.

Police say the suspects were sitting a white car watching the home before they approached the woman.
