(KMOV.com) – A man Lincoln County was stuck for more than three hours Thursday after his leg became stuck in a pipe while he was trying to clear excess rain water.
Firefighters told News 4 the man was trying to help a neighbor clear debris out of a pipe that was draining excess rainwater from a lake near Foley. Authorities said the two were able to clear the pipe, but when the water began flowing again, it sucked the man’s leg into the pipe, trapping him.
Firefighters said he was able to keep his head above water, but was stuck for around 3.5 hours before firefighters freed him by cutting into a levee that holds the lake in, which relieved the pressure on the pipe.
Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries to his leg and hypothermia.
