ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Police say a 16-year-old went on a crime spree, including multiple armed robberies, attempted robberies, and a carjacking against four women while they were on their way to work.
“My wife works down here,” said Todd Hampel, a St. Louis resident. “She works down there by the Millennium Center and the Central West End. It’s scary to know that she could be parking somewhere and get held at gunpoint.”
St. Louis police say a woman walking on Olive was confronted by 16-year-old Bryian Terry Fips who pointed a gun at her and stole her purse, keys, and her car.
Two days earlier near a lot for Nestle Purina, Fips allegedly pointed a knife at two different women one after the other. Fips was allegedly threatening one woman and was caught off guard by a passerby and ran south on 8th street where he approached another woman, got inside her vehicle, showed her the knife, and robbed her.
Fips was later caught near the Clinton Peabody Housing in possession of the stolen car. Fips is facing multiple charges including first degree robbery and armed criminal action.
