ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The families of two St. Louis shooting victims are suing the city police department for dispatching officers to the wrong address.

Twenty-five-year-old Jessica Thompson and 32-year-old Tony Jordan Jr. were killed in July. University City resident Adrian Houston, who was Thompson's boyfriend, faces first-degree murder charges.  Jordan was a building groundskeeper who attempted to help Thompson.

Jordan's parents and six children and Thompson's child filed a suit Wednesday that names the city police department, the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners and Mayor Francis Slay as defendants.

A police dispatcher sent officers to a house one block away after Houston initially showed up at Thompson's apartment in the city's West End. Police say Houston soon returned, shot Jordan and then killed Thompson. The dispatcher was suspended with pay.
