(KMOV.com) – Police said they have taken a man and woman into custody after a chase that started in Jefferson County and ended in St. Louis County at the intersection of Watson and Laclede.
Authorities said at least two people were hurt in the chase that was carried out by Jefferson County Police.
Authorities said the chase began Wednesday night at a McDonald’s parking lot near Old Highway 30 and Sugar Creek Road. Police said the driver of a Chevy Silverado left the truck running while he went inside to drop off or pick up movies at Red Box when a male and female suspect jumped into the car and drove away.
Police said the woman was driving at first, but the two then stopped and switched places. Eventually, police said an officer spotted them near Saline Road and Romaine Creek Road and attempted to pull them over before leading police on a pursuit.
According to police, the suspects drove into south St. Louis County and hit a passing motorist at the intersection of Tesson Ferry and Kennerly. Police said that motorist was not hurt.
The pursuit ended near the intersection of Laclede Station and Watson Road where police said the suspects ran through a red light and hit a female motorist head on. Authorities said she was taken the hospital with unknown injuries.
Police then arrested both suspects. Authorities said the female suspect was taken to a hospital.
