Suspect arrested after human remains, meth found in Pike County

LOUISIANA, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A licensed Colorado mortician was arrested in Pike County, Missouri for methamphetamine possession and for allegedly having human remains in his vehicle.

Robert James Lee II, 39, was under the influence of methamphetamine when he was arrested on Sept. 23, police say. Police say they found meth inside of Lee’s home.

According to a probable cause statement, when officer’s searched the trunk of Lee’s vehicle they found four boxes of cremated human remains.

Lee is a licensed mortician in Colorado and told police he promised loved ones of the deceased he would spread the ashes in the Rocky Mountains.

Officials say the remains date back to 2005 or 2006.
