EAST ST. LOUIS, Il. (KMOV) – The city of East St. Louis has thirty more days to finalize its budget or risk a city-wide shutdown.
The city’s fiscal year started in January, but a full budget has not been approved by the Financial Advisory Authority.
City officials and the agency are at odds over raises the city council approved for the city clerk and treasurer. The raises would make both salaries jump to $55,000 a year.
