RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV) – Several residents are nervous about the latest attempt to tear down their houses in Richmond Heights to redevelop Hadley Township.
Two companies have signed on for the project, but the homeowners fear they will not get a fair price for their houses located near Interstate 64 and Hanley Road.
“For the city, we are talking about the elimination of a deteriorated area,” Amy Hamilton, City Manager, said. “And with that a renewal. And there will be jobs. And there will be infrastructure.”
Richmond Heights officials have had their sights set on Hadley Township for more than a decade, but plans with developers have fallen through for various reason.
Several residents, like James Davis, say the last several years have been ordeal and although it is early in the process they would move for the right price.
