BELLEVILLE, Il. (KMOV) – A Belleville school district admits that a 6-year-old child was left alone at a bus stop after school on Friday.
The boy’s mother, Dana Jackson, says her son, Christian, spent about 20 minutes alone at the bus stop.
Whiteside District 115 officials tell News 4 it was a case of miscommunication and ignoring policy that led to Christian being left alone at the bus stop. Christian’s uncle was called to pick him up at the school as Christian rode the bus.
It is district policy not to allow kindergarten and first grade students to get off a bus unless an adult is present at the stop.
