(KMOV.com) -- A quick response by firefighters helped save a north St. Louis City church from major damage after a fire broke out early Monday morning.
According to the St. Louis Fire Department, the fire started in a second floor office of the North Park United Methodist Church in the 1500 block of Orchid Avenue around 12:45 a.m.
Firefighters responded to the scene and quickly doused the fire.
Authorities said the damage was contained to an office in the rear of the church where the fire started.
The church is reportedly still be usable and no disruption of services is anticipated.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. Authoriteis said there is no evidence to support it was started intentionally.
