(KMOV) – Police said three teenage victims were shot while passing through a Church’s Chicken parking lot on Delmar Boulevard around 11 p.m. Saturday night.
Police said one victim, 19, was shot in the left armpit while another male victim, 17, was shot in the abdomen. All victims were hospitalized and are expected to make full recoveries.
Police say as many as 50 officers responded to the shootings.
Authorities say it took nearly 40 minutes to break up the crowds. St. Louis city police and University City police do not have any suspects in custody. University City officials say they want the public to know that Saturday’s event was an isolated incident and there have not been any serious problems since last year.
Both the city of St. Louis and University City have curfews for those under 16 years of age. In University City the curfew is 9 p.m. In St. Louis, it is 11 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
The investigation is ongoing.
