GRANITE CITY, Missouri ( – A married Granite City firefighter with children was accused last month of exposing himself to school children, according to police.

Chad Toeniskoetter, 37, was charged with misdemeanor public indecency on March 2.

According to court documents, on February 29, Toeniskoetter was standing at his glass front door in the 2300 block of Grand Avenue about 8 a.m. when he exposed himself to children who were walking to school.

According to the charge, Toeniskoetter “knowingly exposed his sex organ in a lewd manner with the intent to arouse his sexual desires.”

Parents called police and Toeniskoetter was arrested and released that same day.

Toeniskoetter, 10-year veteran with the Granite City Fire Department, is still getting paid by the department. He was first placed on administrative leave and is currently on sick leave.

The Granite City fire chief said he’s filed complaints and Toeniskoetter’s future is in the hands of the fire and police commissioners.

News 4 attempted to contact Toeniskoetter at his home on Monday, but he didn’t respond.
