(KMOV.com) -- Right to Work looks to become the big talking point among Republicans now that Missouri lawmakers are back to work in Jefferson City.
Right to Work legislation bars mandatory union membership as a condition of employment.
“Chrysler would still be here in Fenton. Ford would still be here in Hazelwood,” said House Speaker Tim Jones, “And numerous other manufacturers would not have left this state for the South and West.”
But Democrats differ on what Right to Work would be the worse choice for Missouri.
“Right to Work is not going to help anybody in the state,” Minority Floor Lead Jake Hummel said, “Except to lower wages for the people in Missouri.”
Other big topics expected to be discussed are financial problems related to school transfers from unaccredited districts.
