(KMOV) – Two passengers on an Amtrak train were hurt when it collided with a semi truck in Kirkwood Tuesday afternoon.
Skyzoom 4 was over the scene after an Arrow Box Co. semi truck was struck by an Amtrak train on the Union Pacific Railroad tracks at the intersection of Scott and Leffingwell.
The Amtrak train had 59 passengers and crew members headed to Kansas City from St. Louis. Two passengers were hurt, though the injuries were not considered serious.
According to officials, the wreck happened after the semi truck got stuck in snow and ice at the train crossing.
As of Wednesday, snow was still packed on the tracks. Crews were on scene all day testing the rails.
