(KMOV.com) -- The Collinsville Police Department has arrested three suspects in connection with three armed robberies which occurred on December 15, 17 and 22. In the first two instances, the victims were attacked after answering a Craigslist ad about a television for sale.
The victims in both cases were hit with a baseball bat. The first subject was able to get away before any money was taken. The second subject was hit with the bat and then forced to give up an undetermined amount of money.
In the armed robbery which occurred on December 22, officers responded to the 200 block of Sandridge Drive. The victim had been in contact with someone on Craigslist about purchasing a television set.
The victim agreed to meet the seller in front of an apartment complex in the 200 block of Sandridge Dr. When the victim arrived he recognized the person he had been communicating with by the description from the ad.
When the victim got out of his vehicle, the suspect pulled a gun and demanded money. After robbing him, the suspect fled the scene. Investigators don't believe the two knew each other, and there is no connection between the suspect and the apartment. The victim was not injured.
Since the first armed robbery, the Collinsville detectives have arrested three suspected in connection to the incidents. Police say at least one of the suspects was involved in all three robberies, and the other two are believed to be involved with at least one. Officers are also investigating a possible fourth suspect.
