CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (AP) -- There's no doubt Juice Williams has quarterbacked Illinois to some amazing moments since 2006.
He beat Ohio State with a clock-killing drive two years ago that sent Illinois to its first Rose Bowl since 1984. Among all the greats who've played in Michigan Stadium, it's Williams who owns the record for most combined yards in a game.
But Williams was also at the helm when the Illini slipped to 5-and-7 last season. And as a senior he hasn't passed or run for a touchdown in Illinois' disappointing 1-and-2 start.
Williams says this season's offensive problems are like a nightmare he can't wake up from. But he insists he's still a confident team leader.
Illini coach Ron Zook says his quarterback's confidence has taken a hit. But Zook believes Williams and his team will bounce back.
Illinois faces 15th-ranked Penn State on Saturday.
