Former St. Louis officer sentenced

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- A former St. Louis police officer has been sentenced to three months in prison and ordered to pay back $8,000 for stealing and splitting drug-linked money with other officers.

Thirty-five-year-old Leo Liston of St. Louis pleaded guilty in May to misapplying money seized in a June 2008 drug raid and writing a false report to cover his crime. Liston resigned from the police department in April.

The U.S. Attorney's office in St. Louis announced his sentencing Thursday.

Two other police detectives, 47-year-old Vincent Carr, and 49-year-old Bobby Lee Garrett, also pleaded guilty in the scam.

They are scheduled for sentencing later this year.
