GRANITE CITY, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the death of a pregnant woman whose body was found in her car along Interstate 270 near Granite City in southwestern Illinois.
Madison County Coroner Steve Nonn says an autopsy Tuesday failed to pinpoint what caused the death of 33-year-old Pilar Corona of Granite City. Her fetus also died.
Nonn says Corona's body was found Monday by her husband after he and other family members searched for her when she didn't return from a doctor's appointment.
The car's transmission was in park and the ignition was off.
Nonn says Pilar was in her ninth month of pregnancy and suffered from gestational diabetes and a pre-existing seizure disorder.
The coroner says there's no evidence of foul play, and toxicology tests are pending.
