Edwardsville man charged in ruckus

A 21-year-old rural Edwardsville man has been charged with stalking a 36-year-old Dorsey woman and then assaulting a man at the man's home in Dorsey.

Joshua A. Harrop, of the 2000 block of Treasure Drive, was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with six misdemeanors.

He was charged with disorderly conduct for allegedly following the woman for more than 6 miles on St. James Road, an isolated country road in Madison County. The incident happened at 2:10 a.m.

Thirty-five minutes later, police say Harrop drove his 1995 GMC Jimmy to the 7400 block of Kelly Lane in Dorsey, where he damaged the front lawn and driveway of a home.

Police charged him with aggravated assault for driving his car at the property owner and for reckless conduct for allegedly driving the car in circles on the front lawn while the property owner clung to the driver's side door.
