EDWARDSVILLE - The estate of a deceased Wood River man is suing a
truck driver and two transport companies in connection with the
crossover traffic collision that killed him last November.
Merle Bassett, the executor of the estate of David A. Jack, claims in
the wrongful death lawsuit that Jack was driving north on Interstate
57 in Franklin County when a 2007 International Harvester
tractor-trailer came up behind the 2007 Chevrolet Impala that Jack
was driving and collided with the rear of the car.
The Chevrolet was forced across the median of I-57 directly into the
path of two southbound vehicles, causing a second collision, the suit
