Investigators digging along Mississippi River for missing woman

(KMOV)-- There is new information about the search for a woman who's been missing for 33 years.

Geneva Adams was 53 when she was last seen on July 25, 1976.

The mother of 10 was from Festus.

?

She's still classified as a missing person, but her family insists she was killed.

Herculaneum police Chief Chris Pigg said cadaver dogs led them to an area where they are now digging. The area is along the Mississippi River in Perry County that's south of Ste. Genevieve.

No word on why they are searching this particular area, however the sheriff said the owner of the property is not a suspect in the case.

This is their 3rd recent dig in this case in the past few weeks.
