ST. LOUIS -- A St. Louis man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a violent carjacking in 2010.
The sentence was handed down Wednesday in U.S. District Court for 22-year-old Leon Jackson. He pleaded guilty in April to carjacking and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
The driver of a Dodge Durango was parked in front of a business on Oct. 22, 2010, when Jackson pointed a gun and demanded they keys. A struggle ensued before Jackson drove off with the vehicle. The victim suffered cuts above his eye and on the hand.
Jackson was arrested a short time later.
