(FootballStL) - For the Rams offense, Jared Cook is just what the doctor ordered.
While a lot of attention will be paid to Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin, Cook brings a short field receiving threat the Rams need. Cook was under utilized last season by the Tennessee Titans. He only caught 44 passes in 13 games.
Cook also brings a more veteran presence to the tight end corps. Cook has two more years of NFL experience than Lance Kendricks and should have a positive impact on the former Wisconsin Badger, who should be further along in his development.
All in all, Cook offers a lot of what the Rams need, a new athletic target for Sam Bradford who can help bring the other tight ends along.
