(KMOV) – A man faces charges after he allegedly stole items from two different stores in Brentwood over the course of several hours in June.

Craig Hamblin, 43, was charged July 16 with two counts of stealing.

According to court documents, an employee of the Trader Joe’s store at the Brentwood Promenade saw Hamblin take a bottle of champagne off the shelf and walk out of the store.

The employee wrote down Hamblin’s license plate number and called police.

Authorities said police matched that plate number to a car involved in the burglary of clothes from the Brentwood Whole Foods store earlier that day.

Police later located the car in the parking lot of the Sports Authority on Eager Rd. Authorities said they waited and arrested Hamblin once he left the store.

Police said they then located the stolen champagne from Trader Joe’s in Hamblin’s car. A bag containing the stolen clothes from Whole Foods was found in the Sports Authority Parking lot.

Hamblin was taken into custody on a $20,000 bond.
