(KMOV.com) -- Belleville Police have a woman in custody suspected of attempted robbery at Regions Bank early Saturday morning.
Belleville Police said they responded to the bank and employees said a female suspect presented a note demanding money from a teller. Employees then said the woman fled the bank without receiving any money from the teller.
Police on the scene said a witness who followed the suspect from bank helped officers locate evidence key to the investigation.
The 20-year-old female was taken into custody for the alleged bank robbery. Police said charges will be sought Monday morning.
Police reported no one was injured in the incident.
The attempted robbery was reported at 9:52 a.m. at the Regions Bank in the 600 block of Carlyle Avenue.
