(KMOV.com) An Imperial man has turned himself into the St. Louis County Police Department after he stole $15,000 dollars worth of gold from a Fenton pawn shop on July 11th.

Rodney N. Mathes, 46, is charged with second degree burglary and stealing.

The burglary happened just after 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Gravois in Fenton.

According to an employee, Mathes used a crowbar to bust out the glass on the front door to the building before entering.

Surveillance video shows Mathes head straight for the display case once inside the store. Mathes stole $15,000 worth of gold and jewelry.

A $30,000 cash only bond was set.
