(KMOV) – The work week started off with some hot and humid conditions as scattered thunderstorms were expected in the St. Louis area on Monday.
Temperatures started in the mid-70s and were projected to rise into the mid-80s by the afternoon.
“Moisture is streaming in from the southeast in response to a high-pressure system coming in from the east coast,” Erhardt said.
That’s going to drive some moisture into the St. Louis area and the sun’s going to help to fire up some thunderstorms this afternoon.
Looking ahead, that high-pressure system will plant itself over the St. Louis region later in the week.
“That means sunny skies, very little in the way of rainfall and very little movement on the radar,” Ehrhardt said.
