Police searching for suspsect in smash and grab at Fenton Pawn Shop

(KMOV.com)  Police are looking for a suspect in an early morning smash and grab at Fenton Pawn Shop.

The burglary happened just after 1 a.m. in the 400 block of Gravois in Fenton.

According to an employee, the suspect used a crowbar to bust out the glass on the front door to the building before entering.

Surveillance video shows the thief head straight for the display case once inside the store. The suspect took between $15,000- $18,000 worth of gold and jewelry.

Police say the suspect is a male, wearing blue shorts and a long-sleeve blue shirt. He is believed to be around 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds.

News 4's Laura Hettiger spoke with an employee who believed that the suspect may have been casing the store for some time.
