EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A southern Illinois woman has been sentenced to a decade in prison in the abductions of four children.
Amanda Lindsey, 31, of Jonesboro was sentenced Tuesday in Madison County. That's where she pleaded guilty in April to felony aggravated kidnapping.
Lindsey was accused in April 2011 with kidnapping four children in South Roxana, just northeast of St. Louis.
Police say Lindsey argued with a cousin about the care of the cousin's three children, then used the cousin's minivan to abduct those children and a neighbor's child who was staying overnight. The children ranged in age from 4 to 9 years old.
Prosecutors had pressed Tuesday for 22 years in prison, noting that Lindsey had five previous felonies and that she's never completed parole successfully.
