HOUSE SPRINGS, Mo ( – Police continue to investigate a shooting that took place Monday afternoon in the 5600 block of Carter Drive.

While the motive is still unclear, more details of the dispute have come to light.

Police say a couple was living with a female friend. Officers tell News 4 the friend believed the couple was making methamphetamine, and kicked them out of the home.

The male in the couple reportedly sent his parents to get his belongings from the home. When this happened, a fight broke out in the home, and the father was shot in the stomach, according to police.

The victim was driven to the parking lot of what use to be a Wal Mart, and was airlifted to an area hospital.

Police don’t know who shot the man, but say several people were in the home at the time of the altercation.

Captain Ron Arnhart of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says investigators are still determining whether there were drug-making materials in the home.

News 4 will continue to update this story as more details become available.
