EAST ST. LOUIS, Illinois (KMOV) – A St. Charles man was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Friday for his involvement in operating a mobile methamphetamine lab, officials said.
According to court documents, police were contacted April 26, 2010, about a man hanging out near an RV on Thomas Avenue.
Police said they contacted the man, Dennis Vehlewald, who told officers he was in the process of buying the RV. Authorities later learned he’d already bought the vehicle.
Authorities searched the RV and found an active meth lab inside with drug paraphernalia.
Vehlewald pleaded guilty on January 18 to manufacturing and possession with intent to distribute.
