ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A rollover accident that killed one person on northbound Interstate 270 had traffic backed up for miles Friday morning.
The accident happened between Dougherty Ferry and Manchester around 3 a.m. According to reports, I-270 traffic was at a stand still while crews worked to clear the scene. At one point, traffic was backed up to Highway 21 in south St. Louis County.
Authorities said three vehicles were involved in this accident. One of the vehicles belonged to a contractor working for MoDOT. One of the car involved in the accident rolled over and came to rest on its roof.
An occupant inside the overturned car died in the crash.
No other injuries were reported.
