DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. (KMOV) -- Newly elected Dardenne Prairie Alderman Kerry Tebbe launched heated accusations against Mayor Pam Fogarty on Wednesday night. Tebbe said in the Board of Alderman meeting that Fogarty hired a man she allegedly had an affair with to design the new city hall. He also alleged that Forgarty hired a solar power company she had ties to and ultimately wasted $160,000 in taxpayer money.
Fogarty had previously told News 4 Investigates that the solar power panels were not handled well and she would do it differently. She says she did nothing wrong though in the hiring of any contractors. She admits she started dating the contractor building the new city hall while she was going through a divorce. But she says she had asked the city attorney and was told it was not an issue.
"I'm asking her to step down because we had $160,000 spent without contracts being signed," Tebbe said. He claims to have documented proof.
"I'm not stepping down," Fogarty said. "I have absolutely done nothing wrong. I have a lot of integrity. I've done a lot of good for the city. He has no fricken idea what he's talking about."
Fogarty said she's grateful for the News 4 Investigates story in February on the wasted money on solar panels. She says since then she's been contacted by several companies interested in buying the panels or helping to put them back on the City Hall.
