ST. LOUIS, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- Police are looking for the person responsible in the shooting of a 60-year-old man on a south St. Louis sidewalk Wednesday morning.
According to police, the shooting happened in the 4100 block of South Grand.
Officials said the man was on his bike and may have been collecting aluminum cans from area trash cans. Around 4:30 a.m., someone shot the man in an apparent robbery attempt, according to authorities. The suspect fled on foot after the shooting, one official said.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and took the victim to an area hospital. His condition is unknown, but officials report he is stable.
Police have not released any descriptive information on the suspect.
