SWANSEA, Ill. (KMOV) -- Montrail White says he made his 8-year-old daughter wear a cardboard sign at school stating that she "likes to steal from others and lie about it."
The incident in front of High Mount School this morning created a scene and led school officials to call police and send a letter home to parents.
White was not arrested and his daughter attended school after about 40 minutes.
Do you think the dad was right in punishing his daughter in this way? Share your thoughts.
White says he wanted to teach his daughter a lesson and he is trying to be a good parent and he will do it again if his daughter misbehaves.
Swansea police say White can do it again as long as he stays off school property and on a public sidewalk.
