(KMOV) -- Storms brought heavy rain, strong winds and lots of lightning to the St. Louis area Sunday night -- but no tornadoes.
Much of the News 4 viewing area was under a tornado watch or thunderstorm warning at some point in the night, but storms mostly brought strong winds and heavy rain. Ameren Missouri officials said thousands in south St. Louis and St. Charles counties lost power.
In Sullivan, heavy rain and strong winds forced some motorists to pull over and wait out the storm. Missouri Department of Transportation officials said there were no major accidents related to the storms.
